Metrobank
Foundation
25th Anniversary
Celebrating 25 Years
of Responsible Corporate Citizenship
Turning
Silver February 9 was
indeed a special day for the
Metrobank Foundation as it
celebrated its silver anniversary
with development partners,
beneficiaries and colleagues in the
social development sector. Former
president and chairman of the
Foundation’s board of advisers
Corazon C. Aquino was the guest of
honor during the affair held at the
New World Renaissance Hotel in
Makati City.
Highlighting the celebration was the
awarding of 25 teachers and painters
who have continued to stand out in
their respective fields after being
honored by the Foundation for their
achievements. Dubbed as the
Metrobank Foundation Award for
Continuing Excellence and Service or
ACES,
the 25 awardees who received special
recognition have definitely raised
the bar of excellence for their
invaluable contributions in
education and visual arts through
their professional outputs and
achievements.
On the occasion of its founding
anniversary, the Foundation also
announced a P 1 Million grant for
the production of a brochure and
guidebook on the Benigno Aquino
Museum in Tarlac. In partnership
with the Benigno Aquino, Jr.
Foundation, the brochure and
guidebook will serve as an
educational and informational
material on the legacies of the late
Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr. and
former president Corazon C. Aquino,
who serves as Chairman of the
Metrobank Foundation Board of
Advisers.
Metrobank Chairman George S.K. Ty
warmly welcomed the guests while
Metrobank Foundation president
Placido Mapa, Jr. walked through the
Foundation’s milestones for the last
25 years. Metrobank Foundation
executive vice president and
executive director Aniceto Sobrepeña
gave an account on the Foundation
future plans and projects. Metrobank
Foundation vice chairman Antonio
Abacan, Jr., on the other hand,
properly introduced the guest of
honor and at the same time announced
a P 1 Million grant to the Aquino
Museum.
All in all, it was a nostalgic
celebration with people who have
made Metrobank Foundation what it is
now – a key player in the country’s
nation-building efforts by
continuously making social
investments for and in the Filipino. |
