TWO ANVIL AWARDS


Metrobank Foundation won two Anvil Awards for its programs, The Outstanding Women in the Nations Service (TOWNS) and the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS).



Entered under the category PR Program – Specific Stakeholder (Women), TOWNS received the Anvil Award of Excellence for recognizing outstanding Filipino women who have contributed significantly to nation-building by excelling in chosen field/industry and raising public awareness on the important role of women in society.  The 2007 TOWNS Search was successfully conducted in partnership with the TOWNS Foundation and Metrobank Card Corporation.

The 2007 Search for the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS) was awarded the Anvil Award of Merit under the category PR Program – Public Affairs (Civic Consciousness) for the successful annual search for gallant men and women in the police force who extol the values of integrity, professionalism, and selfless service.Established in 2002, COPS recognizes the shared responsibility between the police force and the community in the prevention and solution of crime. The annual search is organized by the Metrobank Foundation in partnership with the Philippine National Police, Rotary Club of New Manila East and PSBank.

Dubbed as the Oscars of Public Relations in the Philippines, the Anvil is given annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) to outstanding public relations programs and tools that reflect and promote public interest, good values, and genuine service to the community and society.

Since 1985, Metrobank Foundation has received 13 Anvil Awards for its programs in the arts, education, and social development.



Metrobank Foundation president Aniceto Sobrepeña together with partners from the TOWNS Foundation represented by Dr. Imelda Villar and Ambassador Rosalinda Tirona, Metrobank Card Corporation president Tony Maughan, PSBank president Pascual Garcia III, and Rotary Club of New Manila East president Gener Mendoza received the awards on February 15 at Intercontinental Hotel, Makati.

The Metrobank Foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of the Metrobank Group. Over the last 28 years, it has promoted a culture of excellence among Filipinos through its various programs notably the Search for Outstanding Teachers, the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence, The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers, the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service, the Metrobank Math Challenge, and the College Scholarship Program. The Foundation also has a grants program that assists NGOs and the government in the fields of education, healthcare, and the arts. Metrobank Foundation celebrates Filipino excellence and presents wellsprings of hope in the future of our nation.
