Metrobank Foundation Grants Program Wins Excellence in the Philippine Quill

Metrobank Foundation’s Grants Program leads the line-up of winning entries from the Metrobank Group of Companies in the recent 11th Philippine Quill Awards held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila. Metrobank, Metrobank Foundation (MBFI), and Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH) received a total of six (6) Quill Awards: four (4) Finalists; an Award of Merit; and an Award of Excellence.

MBFI’s Grants Program receives the Award of Excellence for promoting social development through assistance and support to organizations which strengthen and advance strategic sectors of society as well as respond to the needs of the disadvantaged. Each year, the Grants Program allocates a multi-million worth of endowment fund to support selected development partners from both public and private sectors which pursue programs aligned with targeted Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Meanwhile, the 2012 Metrobank Foundation Search for The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS) receives an Award of Merit for honoring outstanding members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who have displayed competence, integrity and professionalism and for showcasing the valuable role and contributions of Filipino soldiers and AFP as an institution in maintaining peace and democracy, increasing public awareness and appreciation for the military.

“Our recent feat in the Philippine Quill comes at an opportune time as we had just celebrated Metrobank’s 50th anniversary. True to our Group Chaiman’s vision, we hope that the Metrobank Group will continue the journey as business communicators who make significant contributions to the community and our nation,” said MBFI president Aniceto M. Sobrepeña.

Other programs cited were: Metrobank 50th Anniversary Celebration; MDH Corporate Social Responsibility Forum; Metrobank Foundation 2011 Annual Report; and 2011 Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) Awarding Ceremony and Exhibit Opening.

The Philippine Quill is an annual communication excellence award program managed by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines which recognizes select groups who have set the standards of excellence in business communication.
