Commission on Higher Education (CHED)

The Commission on Higher Education or CHED was established by virtue of Republic Act No. 7722 otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act 1994." This was signed into law by Former president Fidel V. Ramos on May 14, 1994. Its establishment was the result of the recommendations made by the Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM) to eradicate the problems hampering the growth of higher education.

To achieve such goal, the CHED has instituted various projects geared towards the development of Philippine higher education. Among these are the establishment of the Centers of Excellence (COEs), the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) Computerization Program, and grants/financial assistance to students and faculty. MBFI’s linkage with CHED is similar to its partnership with DepEd. Due to its extensive powers and functions as a leading government institution, the Foundation partners with CHED to better implement its education-related programs.

Department of Education (DepEd)

The Department of Education or DepEd is the principal agency of the Philippine government that is responsible for education and manpower development.

As embodied in Executive Order No. 117, s. 1987, the Department shall be primarily responsible for the formulation, planning, implementation and coordination of the policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and nonformal education at all levels; supervise all educational institutions, relevant to the national development goals.

The DepEd is a major partner of the Metrobank Foundation in implementing its various education programs such as the Search for Outstanding Teachers and Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge.

League of Corporate Foundations (LCF)

The League of Corporate Foundations, Inc. (LCF) is a network of corporate foundations and corporations that advocates greater commitment of the business sector to social development in the Philippines. The LCF was conceived in 1991 under the auspices of the Association of Foundations (AF). In 1996, LCF was formalized as a non-stock, non-profit organization. At present, LCF has more than 50 members nationwide.

The Metrobank Foundation is one of the founding members of LCF and is actively involved in various corporate social responsibility programs initiated by the League.

Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP)

The Mathematics Teachers Association of the Philippines (MTAP) is an organization of Mathematics teachers working together to promote excellence in Mathematics education. First organized in 1976 by Fr. Wallance G. Campbell, S.J. at the Ateneo de Manila University, MTAP has honed the mathematical skills of promising students through its Math Competition. For years, it has closely worked together with the Department of Education, enjoying strong support from the DepEd Regional Directors and Division Math Supervisors.

MTAP's other programs include scholarship grants leading to Master of Science in Teaching for selected members; intensive summer training programs for Math teachers; tutorial programs for students; and the conduct of mastery/ inventory tests for teachers.

Metrobank Foundation works with the MTAP for the conduct of the annual Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math Challenge.

Rotary Club of Makati-Metro (RCMM)

The Rotary Club of Makati-Metro of R. I. District 3830 was established in 1989 as a non-profit organization composed of professionals, primarily from the business and marketing fields. The Club is actively involved in several humanitarian and environmental projects, its core mission.

The Foundation has partnered with RCMM in the conduct of the annual search for The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS).

Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME)

The Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) was established in 1984 by like-minded individuals whose main objective is to serve the community. The Club's main project is the Best COP Search which recognizes police officers and personnel devoted to community service.

The Foundation has partnered with the RCNME in the conduct of the search for The Outstanding Policemen in Service or COPS.
