The
2005
Country's Outstanding Policemen in
Service (COPS) Final Judging
COPS 2005 Final Judging Process
July 11, 2005
The Metrobank Foundation, together
with the Rotary Club of New Manila
East concluded the Final Judging
Phase of the 2005 search for the
Country’s Outstanding Policemen in
Service last June 1 to 2, 2005. Of
the 92 nominees, 20 semifinalists
were identified, 8 for the Police
Commissioned Officer (PCO) and 12
for the Non- Commissioned Officer (PNCO).
The final judging process was
concluded during the last day, with
the selection of the Top 10 among
the 20 finalists. The winners will
be announced through official
ceremonial rites to be held at the
Malacaňan Palace in July 7, 2005.
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
will confer the award to this year’s
winners, each of whom will receive a
cash prize of P150,00 from the
Metrobank Foundation.
The choice of the members of the
board of judges was a matter the
Foundation seriously considered. As
Mr. Aniceto M. Sobrepeňa, Executive
Director of the Metrobank Foundation
points out, “the prestige of our
competition relies in part on the
quality of personalities who serve
as members of the final board.”
Thus, the foundation ensures that
the final board represents the cross
section of our national community,
which ultimately is really the one
who will confer the award to the
winners.
