NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2009 COPS SEARCH

 The search is on for the country’s best policemen, with the recent launch of the 2009 Metrobank Foundation Search for the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service (COPS). An annual undertaking of Metrobank Foundation, Rotary Club of New Manila East, PSBank and the Philippine National Police (PNP), COPS recognizes the shared responsibility between the police force and the community in the prevention and resolution of crime.
This nationwide search honors four Commissioned Officers and six Non-Commissioned Officers who have demonstrated integrity, courage and professionalism on duty. Nominees must have served a minimum of seven years in active duty and must not have any pending administrative or criminal cases.
COPS awardees are considered the police force’s cream of the crop, having been chosen after a stringent selection process that includes documentation of achievements, background check, and panel interview with a distinguished Board of Judges representing various sectors of society.
Nomination forms are available at the Philippine National Police, all PSBank branches and at the following websites: www.pnp.gov.ph and www.mbfoundation.org.ph. Deadline for submission of nominations is on February 27, 2009.
