2006 Metrobank
Art and Design Excellence (MADE)
A Big Leap in Corporate Art
Sponsorship
February 20, 2006
The Metrobank Foundation in
partnership with the Philippine
Institute of Interior Designers,
United Architects of the
Philippines, Federal Land and
BluPrint, is inviting all young
Filipino painters and sculptors 18
to 35 years old and registered
architects and interior designers 25
to 45 years old, to join the
Metrobank Art & Design Excellence
National Competition or MADE.
MADE kicked off with a round of
activities that aimed to strengthen
its footing in the expanded
community it now serves. The
activities were:
-

Held at MC Home Depot
at the Fort, the Foundation
joined the Kick-off ceremony and

MADE Art Exploration Series
Now on its second year, the
lecture series primarily opened
in NCR schools where facilitator
and well renowned artist
Ferdinand Doctolero conducted
inspirational art demonstrations
for fine arts students. In the
pipeline are lectures which will
take place at the National
Museum and Le Pavillon. The MADE
Art Exploration Series is a
program incorporating
educational activities in art &
design initiated by the
Metrobank Foundation. Launched
last year to provide a venue for
workshops, demonstrations,
lectures, forums, exhibitions
and special activities as a way
of breaking down the notion that
art and design is just for the
appreciation of a select few,
the lecture series aims as well
as to promote higher
appreciation among the general
public for the positive work
that artists and designers do.
MADE is formerly known as the Young
Painters’ Annual, which was
established by the Foundation in
1984. The new competition represents
a big leap in the league of
corporate art sponsorship by opening
new opportunities for artistic
recognition and thus help enhance
the careers of talented and
promising painters, sculptors,
architects and interior designers. |
