The board selected the winners from
among more than 200 candidates
representing the country’s best
teachers, from the elementary, high
school and college levels. The
winners will be chosen based on
their personal qualities and
character, instructional competence
and teaching effectiveness as well
as professional and community
involvement.
Prior to the final judging, a
preliminary board of judges composed
of school administrators, education
officials and experts as well as
previous Search awardees handled the
daunting task of carefully selecting
the most qualified teachers from
those hundreds who joined the
Search.
The winners will be honored in
Malacaňang on August 30, with no
less than President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo
conferring the awards, and then
again during Metrobank’s 43rd
anniversary celebration on September
2. Each of the winners will receive
P200,000 in cash, a gold medal and a
trophy. |
