Metrobank Foundation Supports
Teachers Training in English Proficiency

The Metrobank Foundation, through the  Network of Outstanding Teachers and Educators, Inc. (NOTED), is supporting the Project COMSET (Communication Skills Enhancement Training) for public school English teachers of Taguig in partnership with its Local Government.  NOTED is a professional organization composed of past awardees of Metrobank Foundation’s Search for Outstanding Teachers (SOT).

Project COMSET is a 5-day intensive training program for teachers to enhance their English communication skills particularly in writing and speaking.  It will be held from October 22 to 26, 2007.

The Project for Taguig was formally launched on October 17, 2007 through a signing of the Project’s Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) by Hon. Mayor Sigfrido R. Tiñga, MBFI President Aniceto M. Sobrepeña and COMSET Project Director Elena C. Cutiongco.  Also present were  Taguig City Vice-Mayor Atty. George A. Elias, MBFI Executive Vice-President Elvira Ong-Chan,  and Taguig/Pateros Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Norma A. Adamos.

“The partnership is a testament to our continuing commitment to help our government and like-minded groups in improving the quality of teaching and education in our country,” Sobrepeña said. Committed to pursue excellence in education, MBFI pledged to continue to make relevant and meaningful contributions to social development and nation building.

The Metrobank Foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of the Metrobank Group. Over the last 28 years, it has promoted a culture of excellence among Filipinos through its various programs notably the Search for Outstanding Teachers, the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence, The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers, the Country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service, the Metrobank Math Challenge, and the College Scholarship Program. The Foundation also has a grants program that assists NGOs and the government in the fields of education, healthcare, and the arts. Metrobank Foundation celebrates Filipino Excellence and presents wellsprings of hope in the future of our nation.
