Metrobank Foundation, DepEd Signs
Agreement for Search for Outstanding
Teachers

Metrobank Foundation formally
launched today the 2006 Search for
Outstanding Teachers highlighted by
a Memorandum Of Agreement (MOA)
signing with the
Department of Education (DepEd).
Signing the MOA were DepEd
Undersecretary and Officer-in-charge
Fe A. Hidalgo and Metrobank
Foundation president Placido L. Mapa,
Jr. Also present during the ceremony
were DepEd Undersecretary Ramon C.
Bacani, Metrobank Foundation
Executive Vice President Mrs. Elvira
Ong Chan and Assistant Executive
Director Mr. Nicanor L. Torres, Jr.
The Search for Outstanding Teachers,
an annual recognition program of the
Metrobank Foundation, honors
teachers who serve as models of
excellence in the teaching
profession.
The Search is open to all Filipino
full-time teachers in the
elementary, high school and college
levels, who have been actively
teaching in the country for the last
10 years, inclusive of leaves not
exceeding two years, provided that
this is not within the nomination
period.
Ten (10) winners will be chosen for
next year’s Search. Each awardee
will receive P 200,000, of which P
25,000 goes to the faculty
development program of the winner’s
school.
Nomination forms and flyers will be
available in selected Metrobank
branches, DepEd and CHED regional
and division offices starting
December. A downloadable version of
the nomination form is available at
the
Metrobank Foundation website.
Deadline for submission of
nomination forms is on or before
February 13, 2006 at the Metrobank
Foundation office or any Metrobank
branch. Nomination forms may also be
sent through email
