The Search for Outstanding Soldiers of 2012 Begins

Oban, Jr. a handshake to symbolize another year of partnership for the Search for The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS). Also present during the Memorandum of Agreement signing were Atty. Al Miguel Leogardo, TOPS 2012 chairman from the Rotary Club of Makati Metro (RCMM) and Rolando Ramirez, RCMM president.
The Metrobank Foundation, Inc., Rotary Club of Makati Metro (RCMM) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines renew their commitment to further strengthen the professionalism in the military service with the recent signing of Memorandum of Agreement in conducting the Search for The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS).
“TOPS 2012 is a renewal and deepening of the well-established relationship between the three institutions. Alongside this growth, we have been very eager in improving this partnership through the Search’s evolution and strengthened advocacies.” Metrobank Foundation president Sobrepeña said during the launching.
AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Eduardo L. Oban expressed his full support to the competition as it promotes commitment to the soldiers’ sworn duty, “The annual Search serves a venue for the nation to recognize the hard work and career achievements of members of the military who have devoted their time and lives in pursuit of public service. It also inspires other members to excel and show dedication to their sworn duties.” Chief of Staff General Eduardo SL Oban Jr said.
TOPS is a nationwide search that honors the career achievements of gallant officers and enlisted personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, as well as the Technical Services.
Nominees for TOPS must have a minimum service record of seven (7) years and should have displayed courage, integrity and responsibility in performing their duties in the fields of combat, community service and technical service. Each awardee will receive a trophy and cash prize of P300,000.
