Metrobank Scholars Meet GMA Executives
Metrobank Foundation's (MBFI) 2007 graduates under the College Scholarship Program (CSP) paid a courtesy visit to GMA Network Chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon on April 2007 at GMA Network Center in Quezon City.
GMA management led by Gozon together with EVP Gilberto Duavit, Jr., VP for Corporate Affairs Carmencita Arce, SVP for Radio Mike Enriquez and GMA Kapuso Foundation Executive Director Manuel dela Fuente met the top 26 MBFI scholars who graduated with highest honors from MBFI partner schools nationwide.
The network visit, a fresh initiative of MBFI for its scholars, "was arranged to allow the graduates to interact with industry practitioners in various fields who likewise serve as role models and icons of success" according to Metrobank Foundation president Aniceto Sobrepeña who led the MBFI delegation during the visit.
The scholars were led by summa cum laude graduates Julius Abel Galpao (BSEd Mathematics, CEU), Norbert-Christian Frondoza (BS Accountancy, NDU) and magna cum laude graduates Douwe Francis Bargamento (BS Accountancy, USC), Aldrin Calimlim (BS Electronics and Communications Engineer, SLU), Mark Russell Perez (BS Accountancy, AdDU), Ana Rose Moscoso (BSEd Physics, WVSU).
Other scholars who graduated with cum laude awards were Michael Jay Abalos (USC), Emerlito Geno Bernadez (USJ-R), Danston Guy Dayaday (NDU), Toni Mae Fernandez (AdZU), Lavenia Hababag (UE), Ace Roger Labuac (DLSU), Luis Maglipon (UE), Eligio Megano III (SBC), Karla Marie Rodriguez (SU), Daisy Sangalang (FEU), Jean Rose Santiago (FEU), Ladie-Anne Marie Zerna (USC), Michael Acupan (SPUP), Shelly Mar Agpalza (SPUP), Mary Rose Diane Baria (PNU), Jessie Labiste, Jr. (WVSU), Anthony Pil (WVSU), Armida Viaña (PNU), Caezar Ian Allon (CPU), and Lovella Sumaria (CPU).
The scholars belong to the 69 graduates who were recipients of the various MBFI scholarship programs such as the Assistance for the Completion of College Education for Superior Students (ACCESS), Excellence in Teaching Program (ETP), Grants in Aid of College Education (GRACE), and the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (PGMA) Scholarship Program.
