Scholarship Program
Reaching Out to Give Assistance

After a successful signing of
Memoranda of Agreement with top
schools in the country last April,
the Metrobank Foundation recently
inked several other MOAs for its
college scholarship program with the
leading academic institutions in
selected provinces across the
country.
The Foundation currently offers
scholarship program called
Assistance for the Completion of
College Education for Superior
Students (ACCESS)
and Excellence in Teaching Program (ETP).
Thirteen schools namely, St. Louis
University in Baguio City, Central
Luzon State University in Nueva
Ecija, Cavite State University in
Indang, Cavite, University of San
Carlos, University of San Jose-Recoletos
both in Cebu, University of San
Agustin , West Visayas State
University both in Iloilo City,
Silliman University and Negros
Oriental State University both in
Dumaguete City, Mindanao State
University-Iligan Institute of
Technology in Iligan City, Ateneo de
Davao University in Davao, Ateneo de
Zamboanga University and Western
Mindanao State University both in
Zamboanga are the latest
institutions to join the
collaboration of partner schools for
the ACCESS program. Each school
signed a MOA each on separate
occasions.
In Metro Manila, partner schools for
the ACCESS program include: Ateneo
de Manila University, De La Salle
University, Manila Doctors College,
San Beda College, and University of
Sto. Tomas
New provincial partners for the ETP
Program include again, St. Louis
University, Leyte Normal University
in Tacloban, West Visayas State
University in Iloilo City, Western
Mindanao State University Zamboanga
City and Notre Dame of Marbel
University in Marbel, South Cotabato.
Likewise under the ETP program are
the Philippine Normal University and
the Pi Lambda Theta (PLT) –
Philippine Area Chapter, an
international honor society of women
educators.
ACCESS is a four-year scholarship
program for incoming freshmen or
sophomore college students taking up
an Engineering, Science or Business
course. ACCESS scholars are given a
100% subsidy for tuition and
miscellaneous fees as well as
semestral allowance. While ETP is a
two year program fro incoming junior
students majoring in Education.
Scholars receive a fixed subsidy
under this program.
Since 1995, the Foundation has
already granted 800 scholarships to
poor but academically qualified and
through these MOA signings, the
Foundation was able to formalize its
partnership with notable provincial
schools.
