About the
Program The Metrobank
Foundation becomes an avenue for
Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines
to help underprivileged but
deserving students finish their
college education through the
Metrobank Foundation, Inc. –Pacific
Paint (Boysen) Philippines, Inc.
College Scholarship Program. To
formalize this partnership, the
Foundation, represented by MBFI’s
President Dr. Placido L. Mapa, Jr,
and Mr. Aniceto M. Sobrepeňa,
Executive Director and Pacific
Paint’s President Mr. Willy Ong and
Ms. Jacqueline Ongking, corporate
secretary, signed a Memorandum of
Agreement (MOA) last June 20, 2005
at the Metrobank Plaza. Witnessed
during the MOA signing were Ms.
Josephine S. Yap, Head of Metrobank
Downtown Center branch and Mr. Ruben
D. Cueto, Marketing Manager of
Boysen Paint. Other top officials of
the Foundation led by its Vice
Chairman Mr. James Go and Executive
Vice President Elvira Ong Chan
attended the event.
The Foundation will be the direct
administrator of the college
scholarship program in accordance
with set guidelines in the
agreement. The scholars will enjoy a
100% coverage in tuition fees and a
monthly allowance of P2,000 for ten
months. Likewise, supplemental
formation and training activities as
enjoyed by other Metrobank
Foundation, will be given to them.
Ten slots are open to incoming
second year college students taking
up BS Architecture at the University
of Sto. Tomas. The applicant should
be a Filipino citizen, with a
cumulative grade point average not
lower than 85%, of good moral
character and not currently a
recipient of any major scholarships
or financials aids.
