Metrobank Foundation makes Donation
for CGMA Program
May 16, 2005
In
support of the government’s school
building program, the Metrobank
Foundation donated P 440,000 to
build two classrooms in Quezon
Province under the Classroom Galing
sa Mamamayang Pilipino Abroad (CGMA)
Project. Quezon is considered as one
of the areas with acute classroom
shortages in the country.
Department
of Labor Secretary Patricia Sto.
Tomas received the Foundation’s
donation on behalf of the government
in a turnover ceremony held at the
Makati Shangri-La last May 12, 2005
on the occasion of the 2005 The
Outstanding Workers of the Republic
(TOWER) Awards.

The donation will help the efforts
of government in building as many
classrooms as possible in both the
public elementary and secondary
schools nationwide particularly in
areas identified by the Department
of Education as having classroom
shortages, allowing children of
school age better access to
education.
The CGMA is a classroom project
donation campaign initiated and
being managed by DOLE as part of its
Kabayan Program. |
