
Metrobank Foundation and GT Foundation Pledge P25 Million to Support the Food Security Program of the Marcos Administration
Metrobank, Metrobank Foundation, and GT Foundation Chairman Arthur V. Ty, together with MBFI Vice Chairman and GTFI president Alfred V. Ty, and MBFI president Aniceto M. Sobrepeña, turnover a pledge of PhP25 million to President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to support the revival of Kadiwa Centers on Sept. 9 at Malacanan Palace, City of Manila.
On the occasion of the Presentation Ceremonies of the 2022 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos held at the Malacañan Palace on September 9, Metrobank presented a pledge to His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. amounting to PhP 25 million in support of the President’s priority to make food available and affordable while ensuring fair returns to farmers and producers.
Through its corporate social responsibility arm Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) and the family foundation of the late Dr. George SK. Ty, GT Foundation, Inc. (GTFI), the pledged amount shall serve as a grant assistance to support the successful revival of Kadiwa Centers, among other interventions. This is in recognition of the priority development agenda of President Marcos Jr., which addresses the alleviation of hunger and food insecurity by uplifting Filipino farming communities. The Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita Program, in its various modalities such as retail, rolling and online stores, aim to make food accessible to disadvantaged communities.
