The search for the next batch of Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos begins as officials from the Department of Education (DepEd), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) gather in a ceremonial launch on November 17, 2022 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center, Camp General Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City. Representatives from cooperating partners Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME), and Rotary Club of Makati Metro (RCMM), joined them.
The National Teachers’ Month (NTM) celebration from September 5 to October 5 marked 14 years of bringing Filipinos together to pay tribute to educators nationwide. The campaign is guided by the theme “I teach for a better future” in the bid to highlight the teachers’ role in honing and empowering the youth who are the future of the nation.
The Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) recognized this year’s Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) awardees through a virtual ceremony held on September 22, 2022. Fourth District of Pangasinan Representative and House Committee on Creative Industry and Performing Arts Chairperson Cong. Christopher “Toff” de Venecia graced the event as the guest of honor.
The Senate of the Philippines commended this year’s Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos—comprised of four (4) teachers, three (soldiers), and three (3) police officers—in a plenary session held last September 13, 2022.
This year’s Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos paid a courtesy visit to Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez last September 12, 2022 at the Speaker Social Hall, House of Representatives in Quezon City. The awardees were also honored at the Plenary Hall wherein the 19th Congress adopted House Resolution (HR) No. 345 in consolidation with HR Nos. 308 and 309 filed by Pasig City Rep. Roman Romulo and HR 351 filed by senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, a resolution honoring and commending the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos of 2022.
On the occasion of the Presentation Ceremonies of the 2022 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos held at the Malacañan Palace on September 9, Metrobank presented a pledge to His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. amounting to PhP 25 million in support of the President’s priority to make food available and affordable while ensuring fair returns to farmers and producers.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. recognized the 2022 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos in a formal ceremony on September 9 at the President’s Hall of the Malacañan Palace, City of Manila.
As part of Metrobank’s 60th anniversary celebration, its corporate social responsibility arm Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) and the Ty family foundation GT Foundation, Inc. (GTFI) turned over PhP35 million worth of development grants to 28 development partners during the George S.K. Ty Grants Turnover on September 5.
In celebration of the Metrobank’s 60th anniversary, its diamond year, the 2022 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos Award was conferred to four (4) teachers, three (3) soldiers, and three (3) police officers in a hybrid ceremony on September 5. Each received P1 million cash prize (net of tax), gold medallion, and “The Flame” trophy.
The “2021 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos (OF)” recognition program was nominated for the Top Division Award at the recent 19th Philippine Quill Awards. Garnering the Excellence award, the OF is a career-service award that recognizes the persistent work of exemplary teachers, soldiers, and police officers, especially during a national crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was given during the virtual awarding ceremony held last August 18, 2022.
