From the start, the goal has always been to unleash the artist within. Since 1984, the Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) has set a platform to empower and showcase the ingenuity of the Filipino creative.

Now on its 35th year, MADE is poised to further unveil fresh talents. Go and create your greatest masterpiece yet.

A. REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY

    1. The Metrobank Art and Design Excellence Sculpture Recognition Program is open to all:

  • Filipino Sculptors who have staged at least one (1) solo sculpture exhibition, or;
  • Filipino Sculptors who have a substantial and satisfactory portfolio of commissioned works in sculpture and public art
  • 2. The following are not eligible to join the Search:

  • 2017 and 2018 MADE Sculpture Recognition Program Grand Awardee
  • 2019 Members of the Final Board of Judges and their immediate family members
  • 3. A participant shall submit only one (1) entry to the Search.


B. AWARDS
    1. One (1) Grand Awardee
    The Grand Awardee will receive the following:
  • Cash Prize of P500,000.00 (exclusive of the professional fee should the sculptor be commissioned by Federal Land, Inc. (FLI)
  • A “Mula” sculpted glass trophy by Noell El Farol
  • MADE-Network of Winners (MADE-N.O.W.) Membership
  • He/she will be featured in press releases and media visits nationwide
  • He/she will be featured in MADE and Metrobank Foundation collaterals, newsletters and institutional social media channels

  • 2. One (1) Special Citation
    This is a special recognition granted to selected works that is subject to the discretion of the judging body.
    The Special Citation will receive the following:
  • Cash Prize
  • “Mula” sculpted glass trophy by Noel El Farol
  • MADE-Network of Winners (MADE-N.O.W.) Membership
  • He/she will be featured in press releases and media visits nationwide
  • He/she will be featured in MADE and Metrobank Foundation collaterals, newsletters and institutional social media channels

  • 3. Four (4) National Finalists
    The National Finalist will receive the following:
  • Special Cash Incentive (exclusive of the professional fee should the sculptor be commissioned by FLI)
  • Plaque of Recognition
  • He/she will be featured in MADE and Metrobank Foundation collaterals, newsletters and institutional social media channels

NOTE: The grand awardee and/or the selected national finalist may have an opportunity to be commissioned by FLI for the production and development of an outdoor public sculpture at Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.

      ABOUT THE GRAND CENTRAL PARK TOWNSHIP

    DESIGN THEME: OUTDOOR PUBLIC SCULPTURE

      To design an artistic and contemporary outdoor public sculpture strategically located at the Federal Land, Inc. (FLI) triangular lot along 8th avenue corner 38th street at the Grand Central Park (GCP) Township, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The outdoor public sculpture will:

    • Serve as an iconic place-marker of the GCP development at BGC;
    • Exemplify the narrative and context of the Federal Land triangle and Grand Central Park design township;
    • Embody the vision of a dynamic city such as New York, U.S.A. and Tokyo, Japan;
    • Reflects contemporary Filipino culture, lifestyle and tradition.
    • ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
      1. Maximum height of the actual sculpture: 17.0 meters
      2. Maximum width of the actual sculpture: 6.0 meters *No minimum dimensions. However, sculptors must strategically work under existing parameters such as visibility and skyline of the area – while not exceeding the set maximum dimensions.

      BUDGET SPECIFICATIONS
      1. Project Construction Cost: P 8,000,000.00
      2. Professional Fee of the Artist (20% of the overall project construction cost): P 1,600,000.00

      SITE SPECIFICATION
      Total area of the sculpture location: 6.0 meters x 6.0 meters= 36 sq.m.
      Total area of the triangular lot: 1,423 sq.m.

      TECHNICAL RESTRICTIONS
      There are no technical restrictions in the context of plumbing and electricity but the sculptors must highly consider the design framework of the site and assure that the design elements are cohesive.
